Once back in the procedure room, I rested for less than 2 to 3 hours, and just like that, the surgery was done.
How Many Days of Downtime Are Needed for a Permanent Hair Transplant?
After my hair transplant, I went straight back to work on day one without taking any time off; I was able to carry on with my daily routine right away. During the first two weeks, you do need to be cautious about direct sunlight and heat, and avoid strenuous sports that cause excessive sweating, as sweat can lead to inflammation in the recipient area.
From the way I looked after myself, I didn’t experience any side effects from either the transplant or the medications at all. Everything went smoothly.
What Are the Results After 2 Weeks?
Two weeks after the procedure, my new hairline and facial frame have become noticeably more defined. But I do have to whisper a quick heads-up: during these first 14 days, scabs from the procedure will cling around the transplanted grafts, which makes your scalp feel extremely itchy! However, picking or scratching is strictly forbidden; you have to endure it, or you might damage the newly placed grafts. Today finally marks day 14!
Honestly, I was thrilled to come in for the scab-removal wash because I had been putting up with the itch for so long. Once I arrived, the staff began with an olive oil soak to soften the blood scabs so they could slide off effortlessly. After letting it sit for about 15–20 minutes, they gently rubbed away the scabs and washed my hair. This part is crucial: pay close attention to the staff, as they will teach you the exact washing techniques to safely clean your hair at home.
How Is the Hair Looking Post-Transplant?
After finishing the wash, I looked in the mirror to check the doctor’s handiwork: right now, some strands have grown longer while others have started shedding. In my personal case, I’ve barely experienced the shedding phase that others usually go through. I followed every single instruction from the doctor and team to the letter, mostly because I was terrified the hair wouldn’t grow as well as I hoped if I didn’t!
